Cohort course
Advanced Python with AI
Use AI as a coding partner for serious Python: shape a design, generate the implementation, and review it until the code is typed, tested, and ready to ship.
One short sitting a week is enough. About 45 minutes. That is the part worth keeping on your calendar.
- Length
- 6 weeks
- Each week
- About 45 min
- Level
- Working Python
- Pace
- One sitting
What you practice
- 1Direct the model
Write specs, constraints, and review notes so generated Python stays typed, tested, and readable. - 2Build larger programs
Use AI while you design packages, async services, and data pipelines. Keep the parts that hold up. - 3Prove the code works
Add tests, read the diff, and reject output that only looks correct.
Week by week
- Week 1. A change you can specify. Take a real function in your codebase and write the change before the model writes any code.
- Week 2. Types the model must respect. Add hints, protocols, and dataclasses, then reject suggestions that break them.
- Week 3. Tests before the patch. Describe the failing cases. Let the assistant implement only what the tests allow.
- Week 4. Async without folklore. Review generated tasks, timeouts, and cancellation instead of trusting a working demo.
- Week 5. A refactor with a boundary. Split a large module. You decide the public API. The model fills the inside.
- Week 6. The review you would give a colleague. Read a full diff, name what you would not ship, and fix it yourself.
Who it is for
Join if
- Developers who already write Python functions, classes, and tests, and want a disciplined way to use AI on larger codebases.
- You want AI in the editor, but you still want to own the design.
- You can read a traceback and a pytest failure without help.
Skip it if
- You are learning what a function or a class is.
- You want prompts that produce an app you never open.
How a week runs
- Open the file. One Python file, a few minutes to read.
- Do the change. Most of the 45 minutes goes here.
- Stop. You are done for the week. The next file waits.
